This ace is somewhat of a hidden gem. The food is always good and never over priced. The bar part of the restaurant is a bit sketchy, but the drinks are cheap and goes great with the food so it works.
The only con is that they close too early. I understand the struggle of staying open at night, but that food is great for dinner and I would love to consider them a Togo place for dinner.
I was planning on taking a picture of my meatloaf I ordered however, it was too good and I are it a bit too quickly!

Pros:The staff was sweet. Cornbread was great and the smothered Turkey wings.

Cons: My mac and cheese was not good and u can tell that they sprinkled cheese on top and let get hard but not melted. No one wants hard cheese on their mac and cheese.

The rice was a little crunchy. Idk what happened to it.

The gravy on the rice should of been optional just case someome dosent like it.

The collard green could of had a bit more seasoning on it  (pretty bland).

The man who cooks the Caribbean apparently has quit so don't even ask for it, you won't get it!

My boy, Chester, lives down the street from this establishment and he took me here after showing me his new spot, The Wheelist. Granny's is located on 35th St, which is in the Park Pace section of Norfolk. This portion of Norfolk, for a long time, was an area you didn't want to hang out too long (or too often) as its streets were full of shady activity. Thanks to residents like Chester, Park Place is going through a revitalization and the maxim of staying away from here is quickly being eliminated. Granny's is a spot that helps to enforce this area's renaissance, and they're doing it with some good food.

Granny's is a small spot - when you walk in the kitchen's in front of you. They serve a la carte and it's a good mix of southern and country cookin'. There is a lounge/bar area (which wouldn't look out of place at the Town Center in Pembroke) with plenty of televisions and a full bar. We came in on a Sunday evening, so there was plenty of football to be seen. My friends got the wings, which I believe were $0.50 apiece, so you can order as many or as little as you desire. I went for the baked chicken, which came with rice and two sides. It was a hearty meal since it was covered in gravy and I ordered French fries and mac 'n' cheese to accompany it.

Granny's has a homey feel to it, accentuated by their friendly staff. There is a chill vibe throughout, which anyone can appreciate, although I foresee some friendly arguments between clashing NFL fans (the entire staff was wearing gear to support their favorite teams). Granny is back in the kitchen (definitely not an imaginary title) but she's running things both in the front and back. Say hi to her if she doesn't get a chance to greet you first because I believe it's well-deserved to compliment a place that has a good balance of delicious food and timely service.

Better Block is happening on November 8th and 9th, so this spot could be one of the event's highlights. Head over and check it out if you're so inclined. But if you can't make it then then check out Granny's sometime soon if you want to try (or enjoy again) some good home cookin'.  JV

This is solely about the food. We went on a Saturday night when it turned into a club *_* that's a whole other story lol. Fried fish was so good and the portions were generous. I did have a few bones in mine but that's not a deal breaker (raised on eating fish) server was attentive and I felt I got a great value and quality for the price

Came by to support Norfolk's Build a Better Block & my friend Chester. The staff, Crystal, was so attentive! I ordered the liver & gizzards. I never had gravy on top of fried chicken livers before but, they were sooooo good. Also the first time I've had them on top of rice. Wow! Gizzards were chewy and real crunchy but, well seasoned! No need for hot sauce!  Restrooms were nice & clean! Def a hidden gem! Great specials at the bar until 8 PM.
